Good basic cert, fast setup

I got a Basic SSL certificate for my new small site. The ordering process was pretty straightforward on their site, no real hiccups there. Validation took maybe 15 minutes after I submitted everything, which was quick. I installed it on Apache and it worked right away. No issues with browser trust or anything. Support wasn't needed, thankfully. Overall, a solid product for what I needed, and the price for a year seemed reasonable.

Saved on multi-year Wildcard

I was looking for a Wildcard SSL for a few subdomains and saw their multi-year discount. I ended up getting a 3-year plan for the Wildcard SSL Certificate. It wasn't advertised as a specific coupon code, just applied automatically. The savings were pretty good compared to buying it yearly, felt like a smart move. Validation was a bit more involved than I expected, but not too bad. Definitely got good value for money this way.

Easy to get an S/MIME cert

Needed an S/MIME Email Certificate for work emails. I just went on their site and bought it. The process was super easy. Got the email with instructions quickly. It was simple to install and get going. No problems at all, really. Just what I needed.

Hey, wondering how long it usually takes to get a basic SSL cert approved. I need it for a small site to go live next week, so kinda on a timeline.

H Hannah M. 1 week ago
For a basic one, it's usually pretty quick, like within minutes or an hour if all your info is good. They just do domain validation.

Yeah, I got mine super fast. The more 'advanced' ones take longer because they gotta verify your company, but basic is almost instant if you're ready.

Anyone know if they're legit? Like, are their certs actually trusted by all browsers or am I going to run into weird warnings for visitors?

N Nancy Gomez 1 week ago
totally legit, they're a proper certificate authority. Been using them for years, never had any browser trust issues.

They're fine. I think they're on all the main browser trust lists, so you should be good. Not like some of the smaller CAs that can be hit or miss.

Are there any current discounts for wildcard SSLs? Or like, a first-time buyer promo I can stack?

H Hannah Scott 2 weeks ago
They usually have a pretty good discount if you buy for multiple years, like 3 or 5 years upfront. I don't think you can stack coupons though, afaik.

Check around Cyber Monday or Black Friday, that's when I've seen some of their best deals for wildcards. They also often have volume discounts if you need more than one.

Thinking of getting an EV cert for my business. Is it worth the extra cost over a regular one from SSL.com, or should I just stick with a cheaper option from like, GoDaddy?

A Ashley Parker 2 weeks ago
EV gives you that green bar in older browsers, which is kinda cool for trust, but honestly, for most modern browsers, it's just a padlock like the others. Depends on your audience I guess.

I went with EV because it looked more professional for my e-commerce site. It's more expensive, but the validation process is also much tougher, so it does feel more 'official' than a basic cert from GoDaddy or something.

What's their refund policy like? Just in case I mess something up or decide I don't need the cert after buying it.

P Paul Brown 4 days ago
I had to cancel one once, and it was pretty straightforward. I think they give you a certain number of days, like 30 days maybe, for a full refund.

Yeah, their refund policy is decent. As long as you're within the initial period and haven't really used the cert, they're usually cool about it. Just check the exact timeframe on their site.
